This insighted many 'lol' moments over the past week.. I could explain it but I'll let Andrew do the honours as it went down at his site -

"So for those of you keeping score at home, a small battle/debate exploded here on FSD over the past few days regarding the 'Nouveau Chicago' t-shirt that has been making waves all over the internet. For those not keeping score at home, Enstrumental and Eschmitte came together to create a t-shirt honoring some of Chicago’s rising stars and buzz-worthy artists. Certain FSD readers didn’t seem to care for the lineup chosen for the shirt which sparked all sorts of controversy in the comments section. 100-and-some comments later everyone from Mic Terror to Million $ Mano to Ivy League to the Boardroom to Prolyfic had chimed in giving their two-cents on the matter, prompting one of the shirts creators, Eschmitte, to release a statement via their blog."

To get how this went down you've really gotta check out the comment section which eventually turned into the Fake Shore Drive forum :P I guarantee some laughs. It's "ish" like this that makes me love that damn city even more.

Atatürk zamanında köklü bir din reformunun çalışmalarının yapıldığı bu yönde tekliflerin bile olduğu ortaya çıktı. Gültekin Avcı yeni kitabında, din reformu için ortaya atılan tekliflere yer verdi. Teklifler arasında, Kuran-ı Kerim’in Atatürk’ün vecizelerine de yer vererek yeniden yazılmasından, namazın 8 rekatı geçmeyecek şekilde yeniden düzenlenmesine kadar çok sayıda teklif bulunuyor.

Gültekin Avcı yeni kitabında Atatürk’ün yeni bir din reformu çalışması içerisinde olduğunu ancak buna ömrünün yetmediğini yazdı. Sisteme yönelik eleştirileriyle tanınan eski Savcı Gültekin Avcı, Metropol Yayınları’ndan çıkan “Resmi İdeoloji Yangınları, Yargılanan Milletin Kabusları” isimli yeni kitabında çok tartışılacak iddialarda bulundu. Atatürk’ü çok iyi tanıyan Falih Rıfkı Atay’ın, “Atatürk sağ kalsaydı ibadet reformu olacağından şüphe yoktu” sözlerini hatırlatan Avcı, kitabında Atatürk döneminde ciddi manada ibadet reformunun planlandığını iddia ediyor.

ATATÜRK NASIL BİR REFORM PLANLIYORDU?

Atatürk’ün ömrü kifayet etmediği için yapılamayan din reformunda ilginç tekliflerin bulunduğunu aktaran Avcı, o teklifleri şu şekilde sıralıyor:

“Yeni bir Kur’an hazırlanacaktı. Türk Ceza Kanununa aykırı hükümlerin hazırlanacak yeni ‘Kur’an’ kitabına konmaması, bu yeni hazırlanacak Kur’an’da Atatürk’ün demeçlerinden bazı pasajlar yer alması, yine bu yeni Kur’an’da ahiret fikri adalet, Cennet fikri bu dünyada huzur ve saadet, cehennem fikri ise vicdan azabı ve ruhi huzursuzluk olarak tavsif edilmesi söz konusuydu.

Yeni Kur’an Türkçe olacak ve TDK tarafından basılacaktı. İbadetlerde bu yeni Kur’an okunmak durumundaydı. Dini ve bilimsel araştırma yapmak isteyenler içinse orijinal Kur’an serbest olacaktı. Farz, vacip ve sünnet tüm namazlar camide imamla beraber Türkçe kılınacaktı. Namaz rekâtları 8’i geçemeyecekti. Camilerde musiki aletleri bulundurulacaktı. Musıki asri ve enstrümantal olacaktı. Böyle devam edip gitmekteydi.”
